If you are looking for a disc burner with a nice user interface to help you create CDs or DVDs from scratch, CommandBurner is not what you are looking for. Nevertheless, if you need a very compact burner that you can use right from the command line, you will definitely be pleased with this tool.
This program’s interface is certainly not its main strength. Although it will be full of options that may look a little confusing at first sight, once you study the interface, you will notice that it is not really so hard to use. In this regard, you can choose an available burning device and control it by ejecting or loading discs. It will also provide functions to erase rewritable discs, quickly or fully. You will also be able to select a file or a directory to burn onto a disc. In addition, while the disc is burned, you will be receiving information as to the process status. A limitation related to the user interface is that it will not allow you to create a folder structure, so you will have to create this structure within a folder using the file explorer, then burn the folder you have created.
Despite the drawbacks of its interface, CommandBurner will be very useful if you need to control disc burning operations. In this respect, it will allow commands passed by any method, such as other programs, scripts or batch files.
